Launch of the Chair
On October 11, 2023, the REVIDA Industrial Chair (Respiratory Viral Infections: From Diagnosis to Prognosis), led by researcher Sophie Trouillet-Assant (UCBL/HCL), was officially launched by the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1, the Hospices Civils de Lyon, and bioMérieux, with the support of the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR). This initiative aims to strengthen health systems’ capacity to address the emergence of new respiratory diseases.
Hosted at the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and operating within the HCL/UCBL/bioMérieux joint laboratory, the chair will combine the efforts of the Centre International de Recherche en Infectiologie (CIRI – CNRS/Inserm/Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1/ENS de Lyon), the Hospices Civils de Lyon, and bioMérieux to develop new, effective, and innovative diagnostic solutions, thereby improving the management of patients with respiratory infections.
The aim is to quickly identify individuals suffering from viral infections, regardless of the virus, allowing for more responsive patient management, especially in the event of a new pandemic. This initiative seeks to provide tools to swiftly predict individuals at risk of developing severe forms of the disease, thereby enhancing overall patient care.
