Start of partnership EID@Lyon

Each year, as part of the University Diploma (DU) “Acting and Innovating Against Emerging Infectious Diseases”, students from the EID@Lyon work in a transdisciplinary manner on issues related to infectious diseases.

Within this framework, Sophie Trouillet-Assant and Marine Mommert-Tripon presented, on October 9th, 2025, a project proposal aimed at anticipating and controlling the introduction of emerging viruses. This project notably relies on the use of an innovative test based on the host response, specifically the type I interferon response. Students will be tasked with designing control devices and protocols adapted to passengers arriving from areas at risk of viral (re-)emergence.
