Arrival of Marion Holzapfel

The team of the REVIDA Chair is pleased to welcome a new member as of February 2026: Marion Holzapfel, as a postdoctoral researcher.

A veterinarian and Doctor of Science, Marion specializes in host–pathogen interactions and translational research in infectious diseases. Her work combines immunology, bacteriology, and genomics, with a particular focus on identifying clinically relevant host-response biomarkers.

Within the REVIDA Chair, she will investigate the type I interferon response in the nasal mucosa during respiratory infections, using transcriptomic analyses of nasal swabs as well as in vitro models of primary human nasal epithelium.
