Welcome to Professor Alan Grupioni Lourenco

The REVIDA Chair is pleased to welcome Professor Alan Grupioni Lourenco as part of the partnership between the University of São Paulo (USP) and the Collegium de Lyon. Alan Grupioni Lourenco is hosted for the 2025–2026 cohort, from February to June 2026, at the CIRI (International Center for Research in Infectiology). He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Basic and Oral Biology at the Ribeirão Preto School of Dentistry (USP), where he teaches general and oral pathology.

His research project focuses on deciphering the type I interferon response in various biological fluids obtained from patients suffering from infectious and/or autoimmune diseases. Within the framework of a consortium with the REVIDA Chair, Professor Alan Grupioni Lourenco will contribute to evaluating the performance of new host-response–based biomarkers to improve the diagnosis of viral infections.
